Barcelona have decided to remind us of some good old times.

It was back in 2016, when Messi was voted the world’s best player for 2015.

For a record fifth time, Barcelona star Lionel Messi received the Ballon d’Or award for the best player in a calendar year after more trophies, many more goals and, of course, his quintessential jaw-dropping moments of magic categorically made 2015 one of his best years yet. Winning 41.33% of the vote, the Argentine comfortably beat off competition from old foe Cristiano Ronaldo and similarly domineering Barcelona teammates Neymar and Luis Suarez.

The year 2015 turned out to be one of the most decorated of Messi’s glittering career, as he lifted no less than 5 trophies; La Liga, the Champions League, the Copa Del Rey, the Super Cup and the Club World Cup. He finished joint top scorer in the Champions League (tied alongside Neymar and Suarez) with 10 goals and second top scorer in La Liga with 43 goals (behind Ronaldo on 48) for the 2014/15 season.
