Vitor Roque is expected to be registered by Barcelona in January.

The Catalan giants has agreed to pay £52m to sign the highly-regarded young forward from Athletico Paranaense this summer.

But Barcelona would only be able to register the new striker in January and Roque would remain at his boyhood club until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old striker is regarded as one of the most highly-rated forwards as he managed a very impressive 20 goals in 41 appearances last season.

Roque is expected to replace legendary Robert Lewandowski in the next few years who is currently out with an ankle injury.

The Brazilian forward named a few players he is excited to work with after his arrival next year.

He told Mundo Deportivo : “Lewandowski, Raphinha, now Lamine. It’s going to be very special to play with all of them.”

Roque also revealed that two players from the Barcelona first-team have encouraged to him join the club.

“Before it was closed, Araujo called me. First he sent a message to Canobbio (Vitor’s Uruguayan teammate at Paranaense) and he told Canobbio that I should go to Barca. Then he said to me ‘Come, come to Barca, come play with us’, he told me. And then Raphinha sent me a message.”
