Xavi wants his important players to stay fresh for the next La Liga tie.

Barcelona decided to give rest to their key players for the Champions League game. Head coach Xavi has made few changes for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Royal Antwerp in Belgium.

The Catalan giants have already qualified for the last-16 stage of the competition. They are most likely to top their respective group.

Xavi wants his important players to stay fresh for the next La Liga tie. Barcelona suffered a 4-2 home defeat to Girona in Spain’s top flight. They are now fourth in the table, seven points behind the leaders Girona.

Ander Astralaga, Diego Kochen, Marc Casado, Angel Alarcon, Pau Cubarsi, Aleix Garrido, Marc Guiu and Hector Fort made into the final squad. Sergi Roberto, Fermin Lopez and Ferran Torres will take part in this game to make their mark after struggling form.

Xavi speaks out ahead of the game and his team changes, “I don’t think this loss (Gironq) will raise doubts. We met with the president and the football analysts. It’s a heavy defeat, but something else could have happened here.
