Barcelona Sporting Director Deco is in no mood to convince Xavi to change his mind.
Barcelona have already made it clear that Xavi is leaving the club this summer as he’s not happy at Camp Nou. However, things are quite different after their strong performance this year.
Xavi’s side are unbeaten from the last 13 matches as they secured an easy win over Cadiz in La Liga. Barcelona have still yet to lose since Xavi announced his decision to step down at the end of the season.
The 44-year-old has a great story in La Liga and the Champions League. After failing to qualify for knockouts in the past two seasons, Barcelona made into the quarterfinals of the Champions League this season.
Xavi has led Barcelona to secure a convincing win over PSG in the away leg game of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal. Catalan giants now seem prepared to give up their hopes of convincing Xavi to stay on, according to sporting director Deco, as per MD.
Deco said, “At the moment there is no plan to make Xavi change his mind. If there is, we’ll talk.”
Barcelona are now looking at other options for the replacement of Xavi. They have picked out few options and they will reach at their final call. European success will not disturb their plans.
