Barcelona are looking to sign Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

The England international has endured a stressful 18 months since his move from Elland Road in the summer of 2022.

Phillips has fallen way down the pecking order since the arrival of Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes in the summer.

The likes of Juventus, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs interested in signing the 28-year-old defensive midfielder.

According to reports, Barcelona are also interested in the Man City outcast as they need more depth in the middle of the park.

The Catalan outfit needs to do well defensively in order to do well in the second half of the season.

Phillips needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and would want to join a club where he’s guaranteed regular minutes.

His contract with Man City expires in the summer of 2028 and has started only two games across all competitions.

Barcelona have failed to find a perfect replacement for the legendary Sergio Busquets and need a few players to play the pivot role.

Manchester City will reportedly demand a £7 million loan fee for the English midfielder which would attract the Catalan giants.
