Barcelona is presumably interested in signing Ederson, a 24-year-old Brazilian maestro currently playing for Atalanta, this summer in order to strengthen their midfield.
The La Liga champions, in search of a long-term solution in midfield, have chosen Ederson as a top target, with the Italian club asking €45 million for the dynamic midfielder.
Since his arrival in Europe in January 2022, Ederson’s meteoric rise has been nothing short of extraordinary. The midfielder came up through the Desportivo Brasil junior ranks and went on to play for Cruzeiro, Corinthians, and Fortaleza in Brazil before making the move to Europe with Salernitana. However, his move to Atalanta in July 2022 thrust him into the spotlight.
Ederson, a star performer for Atalanta, has an incredible score of five goals and one assist in 16 games this season. His outstanding feats have not gone unnoticed, with Newcastle United allegedly interested in signing him.
With Atalanta willing to negotiate, Barcelona hopes to sign Ederson in the coming summer transfer window of 2024, bringing a fresh boost to their midfield group.
