Barcelona to not sack Xavi in mid-season irrespective of results in La Liga

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has no plans to remove Xavi.

Barcelona manager Xavi is set to leave the club at the end of the season and he has confirmed this in late January. There was an expectation that Barca would produce a strong reaction on the field and get things back on track.

Barcelona are having a tough season and they are going to lose La Liga this season. They have been eliminated in Copa del Rey and lost to Real Madrid in Supercopa de Espana.

The Catalan giants played out a 3-3 draw with 19th-placed Granada last weekend. They dropped points one more time and they are 10 points behind Real Madrid in the table after 24 games.

It was a huge pressure on Barcelona to send him out in the middle of the season. Barcelona president Joan Laporta has retained his faith in Xavi. As per SPORT, irrespective of the results of the Celta Vigo and the Napoli clashes over the next five days, Joan Laporta has no plans to remove Xavi.

Barçelona will face Celta Vigo away at Balaidos tomorrow before travelling to Italy to meet Napoli at on Wednesday night.
