Neymar Unlikely To Leave PSG For One More Season

Neymar Unlikely To Leave PSG For One More Season

Barcelona are not getting their hands on Neymar anytime soon, according to Marca.

The Coronavirus pandemic is bound to hit the transfer coffers of all European clubs, no matter how big one might be.

Barcelona are no different, coming off two seasons of extravagant spendings on players like Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho, Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann. It will be hard to expend another £200m without breaking Financial Fair Play regulations.

Neymar had already tried to force his way out of PSG last summer, submitting a transfer request and skipping pre-season training. Barcelona ended up signing Griezmann and could not agree on a fee with the Parisians. However, they were thought to be still plotting a return trip for the 28-year-old.

He left for €222m in 2017 and PSG will look to recoup most of the sum they paid for him. The struggles for Barca is considerably in return for their expected reward. Neymar is no longer the same player that he once was. His injury record over the past few seasons will make you question the return on such massive investment.

On the other hand, one club who can pay PSG their asking price might be Newcastle United. Their new billionaire owners from the Middle East are planning on a complete squad overhaul of top stars in European football.

What will Inter’s demand be for Lautaro Martinez?

What will Inter's demand be for Lautaro Martinez?

Legendary Inter Milan striker Altobelli has laid out the demands for Barcelona.

The Catalan club are after Lautaro Martinez. However, Inter should not give them up easy. In fact, Inter should ask for Messi in return according to Altobelli.

“Lautaro is a boy who has shown all his qualities and can still improve yet. Inter should try to keep him at all costs, even if it does not seem the easiest thing to do as a club could pay his release clause and go above Inter,” Altobelli explained in an interview with Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.it.

“I would say that it mostly depends on the player himself. I have always read that he feels good in Milan and that Inter is a great team who have made him grow and become a world class striker. I hope he does not change his mind and he will stay at Inter because he still has time to go to another club later on.”

“It seems logical to me that Inter will not accept any players from Barcelona. If they really want Lautaro they should pay his release clause. If I were to swap Lautaro for a Barcelona player though, I would only do so if it were for Lionel Messi.”

Well thankfully for Inter, he is not in charge of negotiations because asking for Messi is not really a sensible deal condition in return of the whole Inter team.

Valverde reveals what he really thinks about Messi

Ernesto Valverde was sacked by Barcelona towards the end of last year.

There was a lot of talk about unrest between the coach and the club legend Lionel Messi. So what does Valverde really think of Messi?

“Messi can’t be compared with anyone,” the 56-year-old manager said during a conference with the Basque Football Federation and the Basque Committee of Coaches.

“It’s very difficult to tell him if you’ve seen this or another player when he does things in training that you haven’t seen yourself.

“Many times, from the touchline, you’re always thinking what can be the best option and, ultimately, he sees it much better than you from on the pitch.

“Messi is a very easy player to coach because he also has a great impulse with respect to the team. He has a great ambition to win, he always feels such an obligation to the game as for the club. He transmits that to the group and it forces everyone to be at a higher level.

“Seeing him play is impressive from afar… but even more so from up close.”

It is clear now that it only was media hype that strained the relation whereas in reality, they both seem more than cordial.

If you are a footballer, then you know collecting and swapping shirts at the end of a match is customary.

However, it adds a lot of passion and fan following amongst players as well when you have the chance to swap shirts with your legends. That is exactly what Raheem Sterling is after.

The English international who is currently one of the best players in the Premier League recently bought a house in Jamaica. Sterling plans to decorate a wall in the house with the most famous and loved footballers’ jerseys.

He has already planned to hang up a couple of shirts of on his wall of Manchester City legend David Silva. Next up for him will be Lionel Messi, if he gets his way!

“I am a shirt collector but I don’t put any shirts on my wall as of yet,” Sterling told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“I don’t like people coming into my house and knowing I am a football player. I like to keep my house family orientated.

“But for sure when I do finish football and settle somewhere I’ll have all the shirts – hopefully many shirts to choose from – and pick my favourites that I played against and do a room of trophies and football shirts.

“There’s only one I really want and that’s a Messi shirt – when we played Barcelona I got a Neymar shirt, I think that’s the first shirt I ever asked for.”

Well we really cant blame Raheem, we want a Messi shirt too, please.

BAD NEWS: Barcelona far away from signing Neymar

BAD NEWS: Barcelona far away from signing Neymar

La Liga chief Javier Tebas has made an announcement.

He has confirmed that Barcelona are solidifying their efforts to fight CoVID-19 and are not focused on any transfer!

“It’s not true that Barca are currently in negotiation processes in the signing of these two players,” he told the Adea Conecta forum on Friday.

“They are most focused on when the season can resume as opposed to new acquisitions. There will be swap deals in the short-term future, but transfers are not high on the priority of European clubs at present.

“They want to limit the damage caused by the halt in the activity, but everything is still on hold. No Neymar nor Lautaro, these names are not high on the priority list at present for Barca.”

Tebas added: “The club at present don’t have the capacity to make these signings, at present it’s completely impossible.”

Both Neymar and Lautaro Martinez were being seen as important options for Barcelona for next season with their current crop of strikers not being up to the task barring Lionel Messi.

However, it would now seem Barcelona would have to make do at least if nothing else comes up very soon to restabilize their economic condition.

Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti has some bad news for Barcelona fans.

The club have been strongly linked with a move for Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez in the last few months. The Argentine striker’s agent, Barcelona players have all talked about a possible move to Nou Camp where he will be needed given Barcelona’s barren run in front of goal.

However, it would seem Inter Milan are not going to be easy to negotiate with. Their vice-president and club legend Zanetti was live on Instagram with another former Inter forward in Christian Vieri and this is what Zanetti had to say about Martinez.

“I will be sincere. When we took him, we knew he was one of Argentina‘s most promising young men.

“Now with the work of [head coach Antonio] Conte, at just 22 years old, he can give a lot. Right now here, with everything that is happening, we are not thinking about what he will do.

“Then we’ll see, but now I see him very happy here at Inter. And with Lukaku he is great.”

This does mean Inter have Lautaro in their long term plans and Barcelona will either have to leave disappointed or turn up with loaded briefcases to sign Martinez.

Quique Setien Wants To Keep Philippe Coutinho Next Season

Quique Setien Wants To Keep Philippe Coutinho Next Season

Quique Setien badly wants Barcelona to keep Philippe Coutinho instead of entertaining offers from Premier League outfits.

After a poor 18-month spell at Camp Nou, Coutinho was shipped out to Bayern Munich on loan and slapped with a £120m buy-back clause.

Bayern are not interested in activating that deal and reports of a Premier League return have continued to present itself since the January window. Coutinho could not impress when played in Neymar’s position on the left flank under Ernesto Valverde at Barcelona. He could not link up well enough and very quickly got ruled out as a flop despite his £142m price tag.

While many were quick to judge him, Setien has realized why the Brazilian was ineffective at Camp Nou. “Coutinho is a great player, I like him very much. Basically, he is a Barcelona player,” Quique Setién of the RAC1 radio station said. “Of course, I would want to have him back. I would want to talk with him.”

The Barcelona manager appreciated Coutinho’s talents. “I don’t know him personally, but I have the impression that he needs an ideal context and adequate conditions to express himself as a footballer,” said Setién in an interview with Süddeutsche Zeitung earlier.

He went on to further clarify how the attacking midfielder can be best utilized. He continued, “The way you let him play, the things you allow him to do, plays a big role. In Barcelona, however, the main role is always reserved for him (referring to Lionel Messi). You have to deal with that.”

“When he was here, Barça’s game style did not suit him. He was pushed to the outside lane in a 4-4-2 and had to pursue the opposing full-back from time to time because the rooms inside were occupied by Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi.“

With all football clubs feeling the pinch of the Coronavirus pandemic, Barcelona might be forced to restest their current talents. Giving Coutinho a second chance is a good place to start, something Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United won’t be happy to hear.

Martin Braithwaite has outlined his ambitions with Barcelona.

The former Leganes winger joined Barcelona in February after the Catalan giants requested La Liga to break the transfer window period to sign an emergency player.

Braithwaite has now joined the giants and he is planning a long stay – longer than his contract which runs till 2024.

“I am sure I am going to stay even more than four and a half years. That’s how I see it in my head,” Braithwaite told ESPN.

“Right now, I just want to go and play and enjoy and win titles with this team because that’s what I am here to do.”

“For me, at Barcelona, I am looking at all these legendary players that played here, and all the periods where they had some of the best teams, and for me one of the goals is to be able to say I played in one of the best Barca teams in a generation,” Braithwaite said.

“I want people to be able to look back at the team I played in and say, ‘Yeah, that was one of the best teams there have been in Barca’s history’. That’s a huge motivation for me and it comes with a lot of hard work, but I am willing to put in the work. I am just excited.”

Luis Suarez Praised For Bouncing Back To Become A Barcelona Star After Biting Incidents

Luis Suarez Praised For Bouncing Back To Become A Barcelona Star After Biting Incidents

Charlie Adams praised Luis Suarez for coming back from his biting controversy to become a star at Barcelona.

Liverpool sold Suarez for nearly £90m in 2014 after his phenomenal 31 goals in 33 league game-season which earned him the PFA Players’ Player of the Year, the Premier League Player of the Season and the European Golden Boot.

The Uruguayan still could not make his debut for Barcelona until October 25 after receiving a six-month ban for his bite on Giorgio Chiellini in the World Cup. It was his third biting offence after ones on Otman Bakkal when when he was playing for Ajax and on Branislav Ivanovic in the Premier League. Adam was teammates with Suarez for one season at Liverpool and marvelled at how the 32-year-old managed to turn his career around.

“He will have been disappointed at what had happened [his ban for biting], how he got involved in the situation, both situations, and how it occurred,” Adam told Stats Perform (via Onefootball). “But the way he’s bounced back from that mental toughness has been incredible. I still say he’s one of the best number nines in the world where he could occupy a defence on his own.

“He’s hungry to score goals, he’s playing for one of the best teams in the world with the greatest player I’ve ever seen [Lionel Messi]. It’s phenomenal to see that he’s made that step up. It was crucial for him when he left Liverpool to go to Barcelona and everyone thought ‘was he the right type of player for Barcelona?’ but he’s been phenomenal and I was grateful to be able to share the dressing room with him.”

Suarez has won 14 titles with Barcelona, much thanks to his partnership with Lionel Messi up front. “The top players connect well. Even when Neymar was there, the three of them seemed to connect,” Adam continued. “There was no ego about any of the players, they wanted the best for the team and that’s the important thing.

“You sort of saw it when they signed [Ousmane] Dembele. He was the other type of player that was all about him. When you’re at Barcelona it’s all only about one person and that’s Lionel Messi. It’s not being disrespectful, but you have to try and manipulate your game to suit him because he’s the main man. But Dembele’s not really gone there and expressed how Neymar did.

“Neymar knew that he wasn’t going to be the main man at that time, but he got his head down, knuckled down and they had some great success together, the three of them.”

Neymar has to choose between love or money

Neymar has to choose between love or money

The most expensive football player in the world, Neymar, wants to return to Barcelona.

Ever since leaving Camp Nou in 2017 and going to PSG in a transfer worth a record 222 million euros, the media have said that the Brazilian is not happy and has a desire to return.

Neymar was reportedly very close to returning last summer, and after negotiations with PSG failed, Barcelona promised to bring him back in the summer of 2021.

However, the major economic downturn caused by the coronavirus has changed a lot. Barcelona will not have enough money to pay Neymar, so he will have to choose between a lower salary in Spain and the incredible contract offered by PSG.

The Parisians offered Neymar a salary of 50 million euros per season and this is certainly an agreement that is not obtained, but is not rejected.

In Barcelona, you can’t get that money. Mundo Deportivo claims that the Catalan giant can offer him a salary of 20 million euros per season, so Neymar will have to choose between love and money.

Neymar played 186 games for Barcelona from 2013 to 2017, scoring 105 goals, winning two La Liga titles and a Champions League trophy.
