Mourinho’s agent Mendes has offered his client to Barcelona.
Barcelona’s current manager Xavi has already decided that he will leave the club at the end of the season. Now, agent Jorge Mendes has recommended the name for the replacement and it could be Jose Mourinho.
Xavi announced on Saturday evening that he has decided to leave Barcelona at the conclusion of the season. Barca is not in the race to win the La Liga this term. H helped the club to win the trophy last season but this time, they are 11 points behind leaders Girona and 10 back from arch-rivals Real Madrid.
He took over the charge at Camp Nou from Ronald Koeman in October 2021. He has managed 76 wins in 122 competitive matches, with a 62% win percentage.
As per the reports of Spanish outlet ABC, Mourinho’s agent Mendes has offered his client to Barcelona. Mourinho is one of the finest managers in Europe and won trophies for various clubs. He was recently sacked as the manager of AS Roma.
Barca’s sporting director Deco is also a fan of Mourinho won the Champions League with Porto in 2004. They have a strong relationship.
The Portuguese manager guided his former club Roma to their first-ever European trophy in the 2021-22 season, lifting the Europa Conference League after beating Dutch side Feyenoord in the final.
The 61-year-old also managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013. He won the La Liga trophy in 2021 with Los Blancos. Barcelona have also identified Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta and Germany’s Julian Nagelsmann as potential managers.
