Sergio Busquets left his childhood club, Barcelona, this summer and has since joined Inter Miami of Major League Soccer

Busquets turned down a stay offer from the La Liga team in favour of a new experience. The 34-year-old made his first team debut after graduating from Barca’s La Masia programme. The Spaniard continued to play for the Catalan club, appearing in almost 700 games. On the La Liga Champions’ all-time appearance list, he trails only Xavi Hernandez and Lionel Messi.

Busquets contributed 45 assists and 18 goals to the team, although those were not his areas of strength. He was a master at intercepting passes and making timely tackles to stop opposition play. Busquets also excelled in the buildup phase, assisting his team to maintain momentum with well-timed passes. In the buildup phase, he avoided pressure with his otherworldly calmness and assisted in tying the defence to the midfield.

For Barca, Busquets amassed 32 championships, including three Champions League and eight La Liga crowns. The midfielder from Sabadell took his success to a global level. With Spain, he won the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship. He now departs from Europe for an experience in America, where he will meet up with his longtime friend and former teammate Messi. This summer, the Argentine forward signed a contract with Inter Miami after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.

Both individuals turned down the Saudi League’s interest in them in order to stay in Miami and play for a team at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Along with Messi and Busquets, Inter Miami is considering a bid for Jordi Alba, another legendary member of Barcelona.

After leaving the club this summer, they are one of the clubs that are interested in hiring him. Additionally, there were suggestions that Luis Suarez may join them, but he denied those claims and declared his intention to remain with Gremio. It’s even possible that the former Liverpool striker is thinking about retiring.
