Barcelona great Andoni Zubizarreta has said compared the goalkeepers of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Real Madrid have Thibaut Courtois in goal while Barcelona’s number one is Marc Andre-Ter Stegen. Both goalies have been excellent in front of the goal in the last few years.
However, Andoni has picked his favorite and he believes Marc is better than Thibaut.
He said, “There weren’t many goalkeepers in the world who played like this, now there are more.
“From the first moment we worked on the future and to detect talent. We saw that there was a young boy in Germany who played how we wanted and we launched ourselves for his signing.
“I have always said that Courtois would be one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but that he was a goalkeeper with a profile that Barça needed something else.
“We were clear that we wanted a goalkeeper similar to (Victor) Valdés.”
Ter-Stegen has been standing in a fight for the national team as well for the longest time. He has finally replaced Manuel Neuer which in itself is a great achievement.
He is now definitely in the top five goalkeepers in the world.
