Real Madrid boss Zidane does not want to make a big deal out of the Barcelona crisis and believes

Messi wrote publicly on his Instagram: “When talking about players we should give names, because if not we are all getting dirtied and feeding things that are said but aren’t true”.

It became quite serious – so much so that Lionel Messi wanted to leave the Catalan club altogether.

Rival Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane however had his own things to say about this – mostly that he didn’t want to meddle in the matter. He was asked whether Real could use this window of oppurtunity to take advantage of Barcelona in general.

Zidane didn’t seem to think so.

“It’s never like that, it’s not about that,” he said.

“They’re not going to be weak, they’re a very competitive team. We’re not thinking about that for one minute.

“They will compete with us until the end of the season. Good players are always good.”

“I don’t comment on other clubs. Barça will compete right to the last day of the season. Good teams don’t just suddenly change, they are always good. As for the rest, it just doesn’t interest me”.

“We aren’t going to make the most of anything because thety are not going to show any weakness. They’ll continue competiing and doing things properly from now until the end of the season. We’re doing well. We’re happy – but we haven’t won anything yet”.

Talking about his own club, he added: “We have good momentum, we have to keep going in the same way.

“There’s a long way to go yet, we haven’t won anything yet and that’s what it’s all about. You can be happy when you’ve won something, but we haven’t won anything yet.”
