Barca saw Piuq join the first team from the academy.
Now his replacement in the B team has arrived.
Barcelona have completed the signing of Rey Manaj from Albacete for around €2 million. The 22-year-old striker arrives to play for Barcelona B and he has a release clause of €50 million included in his contract. The Albanian international has previously played for Inter Milan, Pescara and Granada among other teams in his short career.
The second squad, Barcelona B were searching for a striker for the second half of the season. The possible departure of Abel Ruiz in search of minutes forced the Catalan outfit to bring in an attacker. “It’s one of the most important days of my life, I’ve signed for one of the biggest clubs. For me, the best in history,” Manaj told Barca TV. “I’m really looking forward to playing.

“When the offer from Barcelona came, I didn’t want to listen to anything else. Now I’m here, I’m very happy. I have experience. We know that the forwards are the ones who have to score goals. I hope the team gets promoted to the second division because it’s very important for the club.”
Rei Manaj will wear number 22 this season. The Albanian could make his debut this Saturday against Ejea at the Johan Cryuff stadium.
