PSV are willing to activate Sergino Dest’s €10m transfer clause.
Barcelona defender Sergino Dest has given an update on his future at Camp Nou this summer. He is planning to leave the club at the end of the season.
Barcelona will also allow him to leave ahead of the new season as they need funds. Dest has made this decision after missing out so many matches under Xavi.
Sergino Dest has not made a first-team Barcelona appearance since 2022. The USA international accepted an offer to join PSV on a season-long loan at the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
Since he moved to the Dutch league, his career has evolved. He has helped his side to take the top spot in Eredivisie this season.
The Dutch club are willing to activate his €10m transfer clause, as per their agreement with Barcelona. Director of football Earnie Stewart previously indicated talks are ongoing, with a deal close to completion.
PSV and Barcelona will complete the deal in the summer. Barca defender talked with Diario AS and said, “PSV is happy with me and I’m enjoying my time here. My future? Time will tell. Barcelona? No, I want to continue developing.”
