Barcelona are in the hunt for a striker for quite some time now.
And now it would seem that Sergio Aguero of Manchester City could become a person of interest at Nou Camp.
The situation is a recent development with Barcelona previously linked with strikers like Lautaro Martinez and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Catalans are missing a prime number nine with Luis Suarez getting old and hence an addition in the summer is definitely expected up front.
As for Aguero, he is one of City’s darlings but recent developments of the UEFA ban can change the situation.
Manchester City were recently taken out of all European competitions by UEFA for the next two years and although the final decision from CAS is pending owing to City’s appeal, the Etihad outfit are banned from playing in the Champions League as things stand.
This has prompted several City stars to rethink their future. Sergio Aguero is set to turn 32 this summer and will definitely not want to waste the last two years of his prime career by playing for a team which cannot participate in Europe.
Hence it would seem that the striker who has a contract at the club till 2021 might leave on the cheap this summer and Barcelona could well be his new home.
