Eric Garcia has told Manchester City he will not extend his contract in England.
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that the defender who has come through the ranks at Manchester City is now refusing to commit his future to the club.
Pep Guardiola said: “Eric Garcia doesn’t want to extend his contract with Man City. I think he wants to join another club”.
City faced a similar situation with Jadon Sancho who has now gone on to become a star at Borussia Dortmund and is being tipped for a return to England with Manchester United.
So they will have to be careful that Garcia doesnt hurt them the same way but it would seem that Garcia is ready to move on – with Barcelona being tipped as a hot destination for the player.
Barcelona are not as strong as before but their recruitment for young good talent seems to be on with the likes of De Jong, R Puig, Ansu Fati and more making their names over there. Adding Garcia to their ranks will help them add more power to their youth team and it will be appealing for the Spaniard to return to Spain again as well!
