There was a big argument after Barca’s 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo last season.

Quique Setien took charge of Barcelona in January 2020 and was sacked shortly after seven months.

Ex-Barca coach Eder Sarabia served as an assistant to Setien who reveals that there was a dispute him and Messi in the game against Celta last June.

Messi ignored the instructions given by the Argentine assistant which led to a big altercation in the dressing room after the final whistle.

“One thing is clear: if a person like Gerard, who was in that dressing room and is leading this project, has chosen me to lead the team, I think that dispels any rumours that might be out there or misunderstood,” Sarabia said.

“There are moments of tension, and we’re not going to deny that there are arguments in the dressing room.

“In Vigo what happened happened, but they are things that aren’t going anywhere, that are understood to be a part of the job, with the high demands, but there’s no problem.”

Messi future still remains uncertain as the six-time Ballon d’Or winner has entered the final six months of his contract with the Catalan giants.
