Sergio Busquets understands Lionel Messi needs time before he can decide on his Barcelona future.
The Argentine has been offered fresh terms after his last term expired but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Currently on international duty in the Copa America, Messi will likely make a decision after the campaign is over.
“Messi must be given time. I trust the president and the people who are working on this and the feeling that Leo has towards Barcelona”, Busquets said as per reports via Marca.
“I wish him the best and hopefully the best is to continue playing together for many years.”
Ronald Koeman’s presence is bound to have an impact on Messi’s decision. Koeman has been handed the reigns to impress once again. He is keeping close contact with all the players currently representating their country.
“We have a magnificent national team and we’ve never had any doubts,” Pedri stated.
“From the start, we didn’t doubt our potential.
“If I hadn’t been taken off [against Switzerland] then I would have raised my hand to take a penalty. I wouldn’t mind which. I’d take whatever one nobody else wanted.
“I received a call from Ronald Koeman, to congratulate me for reaching the quarter-finals and then semi-finals.”
