Martin Braithwaite has signed his contract termination with Barcelona.

Xavi made it clear early on this season that the Danish forward is not a part of his project who moved to Barcelona in Feb 2020.

The club had been trying to get rid of the 31-year-old this summer but the Dane refused to leave despite getting decent offers in July.

He has bagged 10 goals and five assists in 58 appearances in all competitions for the Catalan giants.

He has now signed a three-year contract with Barcelona’s known rivals Espanyol.

Barcelona said in a statement: “FC Barcelona and Martin Braithwaite have reached an agreement to terminate the contact binding the player to the club until the end of the 2023/24 season.

“FC Barcelona publicly expresses its gratitude to Braithwaite for his commitment and dedication and wishes him the best of fortune and every success in the future.”
