Ter Stegen Insists Barcelona Will Improve Under Setien

Marc-Andre ter Stegen believes Barcelona will improve under Quique Setien with time.

It has been a rough start for Barca under their new boss, a 1-0 win over Granada and then a narrow escape against Ibiza and a 2-0 defeat to Valencia.

They conceded their top spot to Real Madrid this week as Zinedine Zidane’s men went past Real Vallodid 1-0.

“We have to improve in quite a few areas” Ter Stegen told reporters after the 2-0 defeat to Sevilla. “These situations happen every season. We have to keep on working hard on what the coach asks of us. We can improve and we will. I am optimistic.”

Fans will be glad that their number one keeper is feeling optimistic but will only be conviced once results get delivered. They are already set to be without Luis Suarez for three months who has proven to be a major part of their offensive number.

Without the Uruguyan, Setien will need a second figure to cover the position. Currently, Barcelona are scouting for options and seem to have settled on Valencia’s Rodrigo. The coming days in January transfer window will reveal if a deal gets done or not.

The Blaugrana are set to take on Leganes next in the Copa del Rey.
