Barcelona to sell Raphinha in the summer if they receive an offer of €80 million

0
Barcelona considering selling winger Raphinha in 2024

According to sources in Spain, Barcelona might consider selling Raphinha during the summer transfer window if they were offered €80 million (£69.4 million).

The Brazil international has contributed significantly to Barca’s season thus far, tallying 15 assists and 25 goals in both La Liga and the Champions League. There are still two years left on Raphinha’s current Barcelona contract, and negotiations have started to find a new one.

However, Raphinha’s representatives are asking for a bigger wage than Barca is willing to give, according to Catalunya Radio. Deco, Barca’s sports director, has reportedly suggested selling Raphinha to a team that could pay the 28-year-old’s salary demands if a bid of between €80 million and €90 million [£69.4 million and £78.1 million] is made.

According to reports, Raphinha has already been approached to join the Saudi Pro League, but the Brazilian is unlikely to consider relocating to the Middle East until at least after the 2026 World Cup.

Barcelona tease Raphinha suitors by tantalising asking price

Barcelona’s asking price for the player may now spark a bidding war, particularly in the Premier League, where teams like Chelsea, United, and Arsenal have been expressing a lot of interest.
It’s true that both London teams made an attempt to get Raphinha from Leeds in 2022; Chelsea even agreed to pay £55 million for the winger. The Brazilians always preferred to wait for a move to Catalonia, though.

One of European football’s top players, who may potentially be named the world’s finest player, is still up in the air as to what will happen to him this summer. Before accepting the position at Barcelona, Deco played for Raphinha. Edu, who was then Arsenal’s sporting director, acknowledged that he approached Deco.

Chelsea and Leeds reached a £55 million agreement for Raphinha, but the Brazilian refused to give up on Barcelona’s desire to join the Catalan team. It is believed that Chelsea and Arsenal will both be looking to add a versatile attacker this summer.

Barcelona vs Inter Milan match preview

For the first time since winning their fifth European Cup in 2015, Barcelona is trying to go to the Champions League final after easily strolling to the semifinals. The Blaugrana’s youthful, valiant squad is still in the running, whereas Real Madrid, Barca’s most formidable rivals, has previously won the continent’s top prize five times. The reigning champions are no longer in the competition this season.

  • Date: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
  • Time: 08:00 PM ET
  • Venue: Camp Nou

They finished second to Liverpool in the new league phase before defeating Benfica in the round of 16, and in their first European campaign under German manager Hansi Flick, they have averaged 3.1 goals per game, the highest average ever recorded by Flick’s old Bayern Munich club (3.2).

After defeating Borussia Dortmund 4-0 at home in the quarterfinals, where they had lost five of their previous six attempts to advance, they easily advanced to the final four in Germany, where they then eased off and lost 3-1.

Inter Milan’s offensive threats have the potential to cause an upset, but Barcelona has the home advantage in what should be a fiercely contested match. Watch & Bet on Football =>

Barcelona vs Inter Milan lineups, injuries and team news

Barcelona Team News

In addition to star striker Robert Lewandowski, who suffered a hamstring injury earlier this month and may miss the return leg, Barcelona hopes to have first-choice left-back Alejandro Balde back in action next week.

If Gerard Martin fails a fitness test, he may continue to substitute for Pau Cubarsi, Jules Kounde, and Inigo Martinez in the Blaugrana’s defense. In other news, Marc Bernal and Marc Casado have been sidelined due to knee problems.

Goalie Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who hasn’t played since September, is back in the mix, but Wojciech Szczesny, the team’s most seasoned backup goalie, will take the gloves for the time being. Wingers Raphinha and Lamine Yamal are anticipated to help Ferran Torres up front.

Injuries:

  • Marc Casado (Defender) – Out
  • Alejandro Balde (Defender) – Out
  • Marc Bernal (Striker) – Out
  • Lewandowski (Striker) – Out

Inter Milan Team News

After missing the previous three games due to a thigh injury, Martinez’s favorite partner, Marcus Thuram, who has a career-high 14 league goals this season, is expected to contribute at Montjuic. As backup options, Joaquin Correa, Marko Arnautovic, and Medhi Taremi haven’t been convincing.

Both Piotr Zielinski and Denzel Dumfries returned from layoffs against Roma, although Thuram’s French teammate Benjamin Pavard might not play on Sunday because of a sprained ankle.

Regular starters Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alessandro Bastoni, who served Serie A suspensions over the weekend, should return to Simone Inzaghi’s starting lineup in Catalonia.

Injuries:

  • Valentín Carboni (Midfielder) – Out
  •  Benjamin Pavard (Defender)Out

Earlier this month, Robert Lewandowski injured his hamstring, forcing Barcelona to play without him. Lewandowski will not be able to recover in time for the first leg against Inter following his absence from the Copa del Rey final victory over Real Madrid over the weekend.

Raphinha and Lamine Yamal are anticipated to provide width on either side of Ferran Torres, who is anticipated to lead the line. Fermin Torres could start on Wednesday night, but Flick did not rule out Dani Olmo as the No. 10.

Dani Olmo is fit and available for Champions league clash against Dortmund

0
Dani Olmo is on Barcelona striker targets list
bildbyran

The news that Dani Olmo has been given the all-clear to play in Barcelona’s UEFA Champions League quarterfinal second leg matchup against Borussia Dortmund could be a huge boost for the team.

It’s interesting that his comeback comes at a pivotal time because he hasn’t played since late March due to a right leg muscle injury sustained during Barcelona’s game against Osasuna. Thankfully, the midfield player has returned on schedule, as all of the expectations about his recuperation have already been fulfilled.

According to reports, Barcelona’s coaching and medical staff will continue to use the utmost caution when it comes to his return, even in light of recent events. This is a result of Olmo’s past injuries. He is not in any hurry to return to the starting lineup at this time.

Indeed, the team intends to carefully monitor his recuperation, enabling him to return to match fitness before granting him consistent playing time.

Barcelona pass Dani Olmo fit ahead of CL

In addition to Barcelona’s most recent encounter against Leganes, Olmo has missed 15 games this season due to injury. His return, though, couldn’t have come at a better time, as Barcelona is still in the running this season across all competitions.

Additionally, Olmo’s return raises expectations for a strong Champions League showing because he has a strong record against Borussia Dortmund, having faced them nine times during his career.

The Spaniard has contributed to five victories and four defeats in those games. His most recent meeting with the German squad took place in the group stage of this season’s competition, where he assisted Barcelona in winning 3-2.

In their attempt to defeat Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona will attempt to capitalize on Olmo’s inventiveness and vision, even though it is too soon to say that he will start the match.

Goalkeeper Aron Yaakobishvili is reportedly set to sign a new deal with Barca club

0
Man United submit £25.4m bid for Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez

Barcelona seems to be close to securing one of their most promising young players’ futures. The 19-year-old goalie, Aron Yaakobishvili, is rumored to be signing a new contract with the Catalan team. After a time of uncertainty about his future, this news, as reported by SPORT, is a positive turn.

After joining Barcelona in 2022, the young goalie has already played three seasons and impressed the team with his development on the field and in his mind. He has shown to be a very promising player and is generally regarded as the club’s long-term goalkeeper.

This summer is when his current contract expires, which at first caused friction between the player and the team. Yaakobishvili was out for a number of games when talks about a renewal broke down. This action by the club was perceived as a reaction to his unclear commitment.

Yaakobishvili towards contract extension

However, in recent weeks, things started to change, and he made a decision to join Pini Zahavi’s agency, which has strong ties to Barcelona’s top management. Apart from representing Robert Lewandowski, Zahavi has close relationships with both president Joan Laporta and manager Hansi Flick. The player’s sincere desire to stay at Barcelona was evident from this gesture.

Following his decision to change representation, Yaakobishvili quickly regained his starting role. The club took this as a positive sign and reopened talks regarding his future. Since then, the tone of negotiations has improved significantly. The relationship between both parties is back on track, and unless there is a last-minute surprise, the young goalkeeper is expected to sign a renewal soon.

This would be a major step forward for Barcelona as they look to secure talented individuals who could play an important role in the years to come. With his age, skillset, and clear commitment, Yaakobishvili could become a key figure for the club’s goalkeeping department.

Hansi Flick wants Barcelona to renew contract for four players

0
Barcelona Lineups
Bildbyrån

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has expressed his desire for the club to secure the futures of four key players before committing to a contract extension beyond 2026.

Barcelona boss Flick wants Garcia, De Jong, Kounde & Raphinha to stay

While Flick has revitalized the team since his arrival, he emphasizes that his continued tenure depends on the club’s commitment to retaining certain talents.

Flick is particularly keen on renewing the contracts of Eric Garcia and Frenkie de Jong, both set to expire in 2026.

Despite Garcia’s limited first-team appearances, Flick values his maturity and resilience. De Jong, a pivotal figure in Barcelona’s midfield and recently appointed third captain, remains integral to Flick’s tactical plans.

Additionally, Flick advocates for extending the contracts of Jules Kounde and Raphinha, currently tied to the club until 2027.

Kounde has impressed in his adapted right-back role, while Raphinha’s performances have been noteworthy. Flick’s stance suggests a preference for stability and continuity, aiming to build a cohesive unit for the future.

In recent statements, Flick acknowledged his satisfaction with life at Barcelona but refrained from committing to a long-term extension, emphasizing a focus on short-term goals and the importance of ending his tenure positively.

The club, recognizing Flick’s impact, has initiated discussions about a potential extension, with considerations for upcoming presidential elections and financial constraints.

As Barcelona continues its pursuit of domestic and European success, Flick’s emphasis on player retention underscores his vision for a sustainable and competitive squad.

The club’s response to these renewal priorities may well influence Flick’s decision to extend his stay at the helm.

Barcelona director contacts Fiorentina defender dodo as potential summer target

0

It has been reported that Deco, the director of football at Barcelona, has contacted Fiorentina regarding the availability of Brazilian full-back Dodo, who is still negotiating a new and better deal with the Viola.

According to reports from Football Espana via Corriere dello Sport, Deco has been under a direct contract with Dodo’s agent, Giuliano Bertolucci, who represents a number of Brazilian players, including Douglas Luiz of Juventus, Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle, and Gabriel Magalhaes of Arsenal.

Barcelona is considering the left-wing and right-back positions as top priorities for the next summer transfer window, provided that restrictions permit it, according to Football Espana. Jules Kounde is already available to Hansi Flick, but Dodo is viewed as having a completely different profile as a full-back with an attacking bent who frequently plays as a forward or right winger while in possession.

Deco negotiates surprise transfer ahead with Barcelona

The Catalan club is hopeful of completing a deal for Dodô for a price near €15 million, as they are constantly aware of financial fair play requirements and the urgent need to traverse its complex economic terrain. Assuming that substantial sales are made in the upcoming weeks, this amount is considered manageable. The ability of Fiorentina to negotiate or complete a contract extension for Dodô before Barcelona reaffirms its interest will be a crucial consideration.

Depending on player departures, Barcelona knows that obtaining a right-back, winger, and midfielder is a top priority for the next transfer window. Dodô has been a target for Barcelona scouts for months, and his name has risen in importance due to Deco’s knowledge of the Brazilian market.

Barcelona and Fiorentina are expected to examine the conditions in official negotiations in the following days. If the Catalan team is able to effectively manage its resources and pull the renowned “sporting levers,” Dodô might be among the first players signed by Flick’s new Barcelona. Deco takes the lead once more in an effort to maintain its competitive edge.

Raphinha Matches Lionel Messi’s UCL Record for Barcelona

0
Barcelona considering selling winger Raphinha in 2024

Raphinha’s resurgence this season has been nothing short of spectacular — and now, the Brazilian winger finds himself in the company of legends.

Raphinha Equals Lionel Messi’s Barcelona Record, Now Chasing Cristiano Ronaldo in Champions League History

In Barcelona’s emphatic 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League quarter-final first leg, Raphinha was once again at the heart of everything.

He scored the opening goal — controversially nicking it off teenage defender Pau Cubarsi on the line — and then turned provider twice more, bringing his tally to 19 goal contributions (12 goals, 7 assists) in this Champions League campaign.

With that, Raphinha has officially matched Lionel Messi’s best-ever Champions League season for Barcelona. The Argentine great hit 14 goals and five assists in the 2011/12 campaign, a total that many believed would stand untouched at the club.

But now, over a decade later, Raphinha has joined him — and with potentially four games still to play, he has his sights set on even greater history.

Only two players have ever managed 20+ goal contributions in a single Champions League season: Cristiano Ronaldo with 22 in 2013/14 and 20 in 2015/16, and Robert Lewandowski with 21 in Bayern Munich’s victorious 2019/20 campaign.

Raphinha is just one contribution away from joining that exclusive club — and four away from rewriting the record books.

The irony? Less than a year ago, many fans and even voices within the club questioned Raphinha’s place at Barcelona.

Some wanted him sold, with one Catalan influencer even posting a video replacing his name with that of Nico Williams.

Raphinha didn’t forget. “People need to keep their respect for the players who try to do their best for the shirt,” he said in a recent interview.

Now, he’s not just doing his best — he’s leading the charge in Barcelona’s treble hunt, commanding respect with every touch, goal, and assist.

From scapegoat to superstar, Raphinha’s redemption arc is being written in bold Champions League letters.

Barcelona wants €12m for Clement Lenglet from Atletico Madrid this summer

0
AC Milan has enquired about Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet
Bildbyran

Clement Lenglet, who was able to secure a loan transfer from Barcelona to Atletico Madrid last summer, has been flourishing under Diego Simeone. The French defender has established himself as a mainstay in Los Rojiblancos’ starting lineup and has been a generally dependable presence in the backline, despite his rather slow start.

In his 29 games this season, Lenglet has even contributed two goals and two assists. In light of his increasing significance and consistent performances, Atletico Madrid is considering permanently acquiring the defender from Barcelona in the summer.

SPORT claims that despite having multiple chances to speak with Barcelona directly to discuss Lenglet’s future, Atletico Madrid has so far refrained from doing so. In order to prolong the stalling of negotiations, Atletico has been completely silent despite recent encounters between the two teams during league and cup matches.

Barca will part ways with Lenglet this summer

Given the total cost of his signing, which included both the transfer fee (35.9 million euros in 2018) and his salary, Barça would have preferred to receive about 10 million euros net for his transfer. The club must, however, cut wages due to its financial “Fair Play” issues, and Lenglet, like Ansu Fati, is a permanent benchwarmer for the team that causes the most issues.

In light of this, Atlético has a leg up in negotiating a reduced transfer cost for Clément Lenglet, provided Simeone approves the deal and the “rojiblanca” board persuades the center-back to agree to a reasonable salary. The Arab League has also made some extremely intriguing offers to the Frenchman, but he currently has no plans to leave the European elite.

Given that Hansi Flick has enough center-backs, the defender, who has a contract with Barcelona through 2026, appears to have no future in Catalunya. Lenglet has played for Atletico in 13 games in all competitions this season, and the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium may be his future home.
