Lautaro Martinez has been told to turn down a move to Barcelona over uncertainties of regular playing time.
Legendary Italian manager, Fabio Capello has urged the Argentine to reconsider a move away from Inter Milan.
Martinez has found his best form under Antonio Conte this season, scoring 16 goals in 31 appearances along with 4 more assists. He has become a crucial part of Inter’s resurgence in the Serie A, partnering up with Romelu Lukaku up front. The 22-year-old was signed from Racing Santander in 2018 and he has quickly become one of the most sought after strikers in Europe.
Along with Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea and many other European outfits were chasing after the Argentine. He is now, one of Barca’s top transfer targets for the summer. Other than his obvious talents, his relationship with international teammate, Lionel Messi also makes his move a high certainty.
Capello thinks Martinez should stray away from the Camp Nou. “If I were him, I would stay at Inter, because at Barca he would be a substitute,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
Martinez’s agent has revealed that there is a big chance of the forward playing for Barca. However, after the Coronavirus pandemic, a hefty transfer might be dicey, even for the Spanish champions. Inter are not interested in selling Martinez, at least nothing less than his £102m release clause.
