Ronald Koeman spoke to the press ahead of clash against Atletico Madrid.
The Dutch manager spoke out about Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele and reunion with Luis Suarez in a pre-match press conference.
Koeman on Ansu Fati
“I haven’t spoken yet with Ansu. I spoke to him before he left. He spoke with our doctor yesterday and we wished him well. It’s true that the poor kid has had some bad luck. There are a few things that didn’t go well.
“I don’t want to talk about it much more. It’s been 5-6 months and the most important thing right now is he gets better and he can be with us hopefully next season. It’s been an important loss, to miss a player like him, the most important thing is he recovers well.”
Koeman on Dembele
“I count on him tomorrow like I count on all the players. We will analyze the match. He might start on the bench or in the starting XI, we’ll see. Throughout the match I can make changes so I need all the players. Tomorrow we will play the team we think is best to win.”
Koeman on Luis Suarez
“It will be a little bit awkward for him and our players because he played here for a long time but we’re professional and everyone will try to do the best for their team. I don’t think we need to focus too much on this. We need to concentrate on him but also the rest of the team.”
