Xavi Hernadez Ready To Leave Qatar And Head Back To Spain

Xavi Hernandez will not be extending his contract with Al Sadd beyond this season.

Barcelona have reportedly been put on notice about Xavi’s current managerial situation. Heavily tipped to take over at Camp Nou, the former midfield maestro seems like he is done with his Middle East adventures. If Xavi is to leave Qatar for good, all instances point towards him returning to Barca.

Ronald Koeman has been given the season to impress and so far, the Dutchman has done a decent job. He steadied the ship and brought the club back to title contention. He also landed his first trophy in Spain by winning the Copa del Rey. Barcelona handed him a two-year contract and Koeman plans on seeing it through.

Ultimately, it all could depend on what Joan Laporta thinks. The newly appointed president has ambitious plans of returning Barcelona back to their stature as a dominant European force. For that, new player signings will be necessary and coach under whom Barcelona will take on their old identity.
