Despite having already signed three players this summer and having also agreed to a contract for Vitor Roque to join in 2024, Barcelona is still looking to bolster Xavi Hernandez’s roster

The need for a right-back is urgent, and Xavi doesn’t currently appear to have any natural candidates in mind (Sergino Dest is probably going somewhere else). This may soon change, though, as Barcelona has reportedly restarted their effort to recruit Real Valladolid’s Ivan Fresneda, according to Relevo.

The representatives of Fresneda met with Barcelona earlier this month, although they had recently lost interest. They now seem to have reignited it, and a settlement will probably be negotiated during the next weeks.

Following Real Valladolid’s relegation from La Liga, Fresneda is anticipated to depart the team this summer, and Barcelona will be hoping that they can reach an agreement to sign the highly regarded 18-year-old player despite their dire financial circumstances.

Fresneda wants a move to Barça despite the interest of clubs in the Premier League, the Bundesliga, and Serie A; he has even turned down several other offers while waiting for one from his ideal team.

The 18-year-old’s agents have already had a few meetings with Deco, the new sporting director of Barcelona, who has given Fresneda the go-ahead. However, Mateu Alemany and Xavi themselves have reservations and would rather to wager on a more seasoned defender, such as Joao Cancelo.

Tottenham set to place a €25 million bid for Barcelona's Franck Kessie

One of many Barcelona players with an uncertain future at Camp Nou is Franck Kessie

The midfielder has been courted by Juventus and other clubs, but fortunately for the club, they have not had too much trouble finding suitors.

The Italian powerhouses have expressed a willingness to sign him on a loan with a permanent option at the conclusion of the next season. Kessie is rumoured to be interested in heading to the Premier League, despite the fact that there is allegedly an agreement between the two clubs.

In light of this, it seems Tottenham are now threatening to join the fray this summer, according to SPORT. The Premier League’s juggernauts and Bayern Munich are now negotiating the transfer of Harry Kane. When they successfully complete the deal, the club will have the funds necessary to reorganise the entire team, which may entail adding a midfielder, which is where Kessie enters the picture.

The Ivorian is highly regarded by Tottenham, who had already been mentioned as potential suitors for Clement Lenglet, and they want him to join their new team under Ange Postecoglou. Juventus, on the other hand, are stepping up their efforts to sign Kessie and have scheduled a meeting with the player and his agent to talk about the situation soon.

But if Tottenham enters the picture and makes a permanent transfer bid, it might appeal to both Barça and Kessie much more. Juve wants to sign him on a loan with the option to buy, whereas Spurs might sign him on a long-term contract, providing the Blaugrana with an immediate infusion of cash. Kessie, whose market value is €25 million, is almost certainly going to leave Barcelona before the transfer window closes in either case. The only thing still unknown is where he will go next.

Oriol Romeu has signed a three-year contract with Barcelona.

The 31-year-old midfielder is back for a second stint after leaving Girona and will take over from Sergio Busquets in the coming season.

Barcelona needed a strong presence in the middle of the park and Romeu seems a natural replacement for club legend Busquets.

He is a homegrown player with Barcelona DNA and dominates positional play to perfection.

“He needed a more positional midfield figure. He had slightly more mobile centre-halves, who could drive more metres, but the figure in front of the defense was still lacking,” he said.

“This was his wish, that I could play this role. It’s a type of work that I’m good at. And I think I can contribute a lot, both in attack and defence.”

“I want to fight to get a lot of minutes and to help the team with whatever is needed. I see myself in an optimal moment, physically and mentally, to be able to have many minutes.”

Juventus presently stand out as one of the most alluring choices available to Franck Kessie

Although the Serie A team may not provide as much money as clubs in Saudi Arabia, it will give him a chance to show off his talent in Europe for many years.

It was revealed earlier this week that the Old Lady considers the Ivory Coast international to be one of the project’s main components should he join. Unsurprisingly, they now view him as a key target, and negotiations are progressing quickly.

Juventus intends to recruit Kessie on loan with an obligatory clause to buy him for €15 million at the conclusion of the season, per reports from Nicola Balice (h/t Forza Juventus). They still need to persuade the player of their project, but they are sure they can achieve it.

The Turin-based side are prepared to match Kessie’s Barcelona pay and are also promising him a guaranteed starting position in an effort to force him to join for them. Additionally, they have already made room on their roster for the midfield superstar by offloading Arthur Melo. The 26-year-old star is currently very low on Xavi Hernandez’s priority list, and he is aware that it will be challenging for him to play next season. His initial preference is to continue serving under the Spaniard’s direction, but the rivalry in Catalonia for the middle of the park is going to be brutal.

Thus, a meeting between Barcelona and Juventus has been scheduled for America to determine Kessie’s destiny as soon as possible. The Italians are prepared to pay Laporta’s €15 million asking price for the star in its current condition. It is uncertain, though, whether the Catalans will be able to delay the payment until the following campaign as the Italians suggest.

Barcelona has put a lot of effort into trying to sell players this summer, but they have not had much luck

While Nico Gonzalez is almost ready to join FC Porto on a permanent deal with a repurchase provision, Pablo Torre has gone on loan.

Beyond that, though, not many exits appear to be making headway, which is concerning because sales are essential for the Catalans to bring in more newcomers and record their summer arrivals. Sergino Dest is one such player that is up for sale this summer but hasn’t drawn much attention just yet.

The USMNT player had a terrible season while out on loan at AC Milan the previous year. It is commonly believed that he will depart the club this summer, despite the fact that he has been named to the team for the preseason trip. And now, according to SPORT, Barcelona is aiming to find a buyer for Dest as soon as possible with the help of the pre-season friendly. The player, for his part, has made it his mission to persuade Xavi and gain a spot in the team.

The Barça management, it appears, does not share this viewpoint. Instead, the team is hoping that his efforts in upcoming preseason friendly will attract some attention. Barcelona paid AFC Ajax €21 million to acquire Dest in 2020, but they are content with the idea that they won’t be able to recoup that sum from his sale.

Even if Dest’s current market value is in the neighbourhood of €10 million, the Catalan giants are willing to accept a payment that is less if it means that the club loses Dest. The goal is to obtain some compensation for a player who is still in his early 20s and still has two years left on his club deal. FC Porto was allegedly interested, but it seems that they are instead taking Julian Araujo on loan. Determining who might be interested in Dest and their willingness to pay for him so remains to be seen.

FC Barcelona has prioritised the acquisition of a new right-back

The position needs reinforcements because Jules Kounde is hesitant to play there and Julian Araujo and Sergino Dest are both probably on their way out. Ivan Fresneda of Real Valladolid is one option that sporting director Deco is rumoured to be considering. His signing has not yet been ruled out. However, SPORT is reporting that Barcelona is still considering hiring Manchester City exile Joao Cancelo, whose services are still being offered to the team.

Under Pep Guardiola, the 29-year-old has lost favour at the Etihad and spent the second part of the previous season on loan at Bayern Munich. The Portuguese star is poised to leave Cityzens since he has no future there, and Barça has expressed interest in signing him.

Jorge Mendes, a super agent, has thus offered them Cancelo. The La Liga champions, however, are unable to finance a permanent transfer, therefore a loan move would be the only option. However, even such an operation can turn out to be expensive.

According to sources, the Blaugrana may need to pay close to €20 million (including the loan fee and salary) to sign Cancelo for just one year. Even a season-long loan contract would be expensive, and registering him would be challenging. As a result, signing the Portuguese international may not be the best course of action.

According to the article, Deco is also seeking for someone who can help the club both now and in the future. Cancelo would not be consistent with such viewpoint. As a result, a move for the right-back doesn’t seem likely.

With the acquisition of Jordi Alba, Inter Miami has made their most notable acquisition to date

As David Beckham’s revolution gains momentum, the longtime Barcelona fullback will join ex-teammates Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets in Florida.

After 11 years with the team, the 34-year-old left Barça at the conclusion of the previous campaign, making 459 appearances, tallying 27 goals, and taking home every available title. Given that the young team is now in last place in the MLS Eastern Conference after 22 games, Beckham will be hopeful that the arrival of the stars would result in a turn around in their fortunes.

Numerous clubs have expressed interest in him, but Miami has acquired his services. The club will benefit from the experience and skill that the Spanish full-back, who is renowned for his lightning speed and attacking prowess, will provide. Alba had a brilliant career at Barcelona, where he unquestionably made a lasting impression. He recorded 99 assists in 458 games for the Blaugrana while scoring 27 goals.

Questions have been raised about Miami’s strategy of signing experienced ex-Barcelona stars, as with any ageing player. Alba was recently ousted from Barcelona’s starting left-back position by rising talent Alejandro Balde. He has nonetheless had flashes of brilliance. In his sparse appearances last season, he produced 14 significant opportunities and two goals. Some opponents have questioned Miami’s strategy in light of the club’s recent acquisitions of Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.

There have been analogies to a remixed version of the renowned Spanish club because they appear to be putting together a roster of former Barcelona greats who are past their prime. Miami went to former Barcelona coach Gerard Tata Martino when the team was struggling and stuck at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. However, their most recent 3-0 loss to St. Louis in his opening game has created doubts about their capacity to recover.

Barcelona has signed one of Brazilian football’s biggest talents this summer.

The Catalan giants has paid around €40 million to sign the 18-year-old forward and his release clause has been set at €500 million.

Vitor Roque has been outstanding for Club Athletico Paranaense and will join Camp Nou next summer.

He has scored 22 goals in 65 appearances for Athletico and expects to succeed at Barcelona when he arrives in the 2024/25 season.

Roque is expected to be the potential successor to Robert Lewandowski who will turn 35 next month.

Andre Curry, the player’s agent, claims the youngster would be worth €200 million in the future.

He has also urged the youngster to learn as much as he can from legendary forward Robert Lewandowski.

“He is an example of a player, an example because of how he has managed his career,” he said.

“Vitor has to take advantage of the time he is with ‘Lewa’ to be able to learn a lot about how to anticipate, how to circulate in the area, and to take advantage of this situation at the level of experience and learning.”

Before making his official debut at Camp Nou on Monday, Barcelona midfielder Ilkay Gundogan stated he already has a “great connection” with coach Xavi

Just over two weeks after Gundogan and Manchester City won the Champions League, Barça said an agreement had been reached with him.

Following his international duty with Germany at the beginning of June, the 32-year-old has been on vacation. He arrived in Barcelona on Saturday night and is eager to begin his new chapter.

Gundogan considers himself a fan of the squad despite being a German native since he was captivated to the legendary Barcelona sides coached by Frank Rijkaard and Pep Guardiola as a youth.

“I recall watching Rijkaard and Pep’s Barça when I was a young youngster. According to Mundo Deportivo, the former Borussia Dortmund player stated, “I am a Barça fan, I have always watched them closely every season, and I am very delighted and very proud to be part of this club.

In spite of the fact that the club’s off-field financial issue continues to be a larger concern, Gundogan joins a Barcelona team that won La Liga last season for the first time in four years under Xavi. The success of Barcelona last season was mostly attributed to Xavi, and it appears that Gundogan’s desire to join the team was influenced by the Camp Nou great as well.

Joao Felix has the dream of joining and playing for Barcelona this summer

At FC Barcelona, Joao Felix is a player who has long been admired

Even club president Joan Laporta has openly acknowledged that he recently attempted to sign the Atletico Madrid forward.

Felix’s career is at a crossroads because he has no interest in continuing to play for Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid. His second half of the previous season loan stint at Chelsea accomplished little to advance his career, therefore the Blues decided against a permanent deal.

As Felix waits for a decision about his future, AS is saying that the international from Portugal still harbours ambitions to play for Barcelona. That, however, is currently regarded as a “impossible dream” due to a number of problems. First off, despite having previously admired Felix, Barça’s financial predicament prevents them from considering a move for the former SL Benfica wonderkid.

Additionally, the 23-year-old does not seem to have a place in Xavi’s tactical plan. According to the source, Barcelona almost acquired Felix from Atletico Madrid in January 2022. The dynamic forward was to be split between the two clubs under a contract that had been agreed upon, but the Rojiblancos changed their minds.

Felix’s dream to play for Barcelona does not now appear to be possible, at least not right away. The Ligue 1 winners are considering the Portuguese international as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe should the latter sign with Real Madrid this summer, thus a move to PSG may be in the works for him.
